Wales Online reports that Liverpool have made an enquiry about the availability of Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge but haven’t made a bid yet.
The 29-year-old was one of the best performers for Cardiff last season but could not save them from relegation.
The report claims that Liverpool could be in the market for a new keeper given that Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius are being linked with transfers away from Anfield.
Mignolet was an excellent back-up to Alisson, though he didn’t play many games last season. Alisson is possibly the best goalkeeper in the Premier League but we could do with a quality No.2 should the Brazilian injure himself next season.
The report adds that Aston Villa have seen an £8m
bid rejected for the keeper, while Fulham and West Ham have also been interested in the Philippines keeper.Cardiff don’t want to sell him but could be forced into letting him go if a decent bid comes in. The report claims that the Bluebirds would consider offers greater than £10m for their star.
Etheridge could be a decent option to have in the side but the lack of minutes in the first-team could be a huge factor regarding who we could sign as the back-up to Alisson.
The report adds that Liverpool have been linked with David Marshall and Adrian too, and it could be an interesting summer for the goalkeeping positions at the club.
