Sadio Mane had a season to remember for Liverpool as he won the Golden Boot for the first time.
The Senegal international had to share the award with Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, however, he racked up his best single-season tally with 26 goals in all competitions.
The former Southampton star also carried the team when Salah was on a bit of a drought, and recently spoke to LiverpoolFC.com
regarding his improvement:“To be honest, I think I improved a lot in my finishing.”
The 27-year-old is away on national duty in the Africa Cup of Nations but vowed to continue his improvement at Anfield:
“It was positive because I can say I improved every season, which is important in my development. I will try to work harder and harder to get better and better.”
The Reds were unbeaten at home during the league campaign and all the home Champions League games last season.
The 27-year-old thanked the fans for their support and added that the supporters played a huge role during the campaign:
“It makes the club special and it’s really important. Sometimes it can be a bad day and if the fans give you more motivation, it’s positive for the team and for them as well.”
Mane spoke about his finishing being improved, and he can certainly add a few more goals to his tally.
The Senegal star still misses some simple chances but produces magic on the pitch too.
If Mane was more clinical in front of goal, he could be our top scorer, and many Liverpool fans backed the Senegal star to be more prolific in the upcoming campaign.
