Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi has ruled out star attacker Kylian Mbappe leaving the club in the summer.
The 20-year-old scored 47 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions for club and country last season.
The Mirror reports that Liverpool have been linked with the Frenchman, and Real Madrid are also interested in the former Monaco striker.
Paul Joyce recently retweeted a video of Mbappe’s tour of the USA, and that got a lot of the Liverpool fans talking.
However, Al Khelaifi told France Football (h/t Mirror) that Mbappe wasn’t going anywhere in the summer:
“Mbappe will 200% be at PSG next season.”
The president added that the players have to put in more effort next season and they could be sold if they don’t pull up their socks:
“The players are going to have to assume their responsibilities even more than before. It has to be completely different. They will have to do more, work more… They are not here to have fun. And if they don’t agree with this point of view, the doors are open. Ciao! I no longer want to have superstar behaviour.”
Mbappe also claimed he wanted more responsibility after a difficult season for PSG. The Ligue 1 giants romped home to another league title, however, they were knocked out by Manchester United in the Champions League.
They also suffered some surprising defeats in the campaign despite having one of the best teams in the world.
PSG have always been close to doing well in the Champions League but just can’t get over the hill. Mbappe is one of the best in the world and there will be several clubs keen to sign him.
