Latest Liverpool transfer news: Real Madrid offer Marco Asensio for Sadio Mane

The Express (h/t Metro) claims that Real Madrid will offer Marco Asensio for Liverpool star Sadio Mane.

The Liverpool attacker had his best season since joining the Reds. The 27-year-old also shared the Golden Boot with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mohamed Salah.

The 27-year-old helped us lift the Champions League title too, and the report adds that Madrid have been linked with the Senegal international for a while.

The report adds that Klopp admires Asensio, and Real will offer a swap deal for Mane. The Spanish star didn’t have a fantastic season for the La Liga giants last season, however, he is one of the best in the world.

The 23-year-old can play on either wing and has the potential to improve in the coming years.

Mane isn’t thinking of a move to Real yet

The Senegal international is one of the best in the Premier League and spoke about the rumours linking him with Real prior to the Champions League final.

Mane distanced himself from a move to Real and claimed he was happy at the club (h/t Metro):

“For me, the more important thing is that I am with Liverpool and I am very happy here, and I am preparing for one of the club’s biggest games.”

The 27-year-old added that it was a “pleasure for this kind of team” to want him, however, he added that Liverpool also beat big teams.

Asensio would be a fantastic addition to the team but not at the price of letting Mane leave.
