Liverpool FC transfer news: Lovren’s party meets with AC Milan for over an hour
Calciomercato reports that a party representing Dejan Lovren met with AC Milan on Tuesday morning.
The report claims that Vlado Lemic was at Casa Milan to discuss a possible transfer for the Liverpool defender to the Serie A club.
The Croatian defender was not the first-choice partner for Virgil van Dijk last season and had a few injuries to deal with too. Joe Gomez was fantastic for Liverpool in the first half of the previous campaign, and Joel Matip did a great job in the second half.
The report claims that Liverpool could consider selling the Croatian if Milan put up a large enough amount.
The Italian giants are searching for a quality centre-back, and the report adds that Lovren is on top of their list. The report claims that the one-hour long meeting could be a good sign for the transfer to take place.
Liverpool could need Lovren next season
The 30-year-old is one of the most experienced defenders in the Premier League, but his injury record has not been great.
Nevertheless, the Croatian did a good job in the previous campaign when called upon, and we might need the services of an experienced defender next season.
Liverpool had to deal with injuries to Gomez and Matip last season too and we were forced to play Fabinho as a centre-back in some of the games.
