Latest Liverpool transfer news: Liverpool named as one of the best destinations for Mikel Oyarzabal

Former Real Sociedad star Alberto Lopez believes Mikel Oyarzabal would do well at Liverpool.

The 22-year-old versatile attacker helped Spain win the U21 Euros in the summer and was ever-present in the Sociedad team last season.

Oyarzabal can play in several positions in the final third and scored 13 goals in La Liga.

The Mirror claims that the 22-year-old could leave the Spanish side this summer, and Lopez told Marca (h/t Mirror) that his fellow countryman could do well at Anfield:

“I really rate him. I don’t think he has a lot of time left at Real Sociedad. He has so much talent and I think he could play in a great team like Chelsea and Liverpool.”

The youngster would not be the first player to arrive at Anfield from Sociedad, as we did extremely well with Xabi Alonso several years ago.

Liverpool could use a versatile attacker joining in the summer

The Reds saw the departure of Daniel Sturridge in the summer and could do with a versatile attacking joining the ranks.

Oyarzabal can play out wide, in an attacking midfielder’s role or as a striker, and this versatility could be used well by Jurgen Klopp.

The 22-year-old did well in the La Liga last season and could grow further under a manager like Klopp.
