Latest Liverpool transfer news: Mignolet’s agent wants Belgian to play at another club
Simon Mignolet’s agent claims that the keeper wants to play elsewhere next season.
The Belgian has played most of the minutes in our pre-season campaign due to injuries to several young keepers.
Alisson has not returned from his break after the Copa America success, and the Belgian played second fiddle to the Brazilian last season.
Mignolet only started a couple of domestic cup games, and his agent Nico Vaesen told Le Sport Plus that he is trying to get his client out of Liverpool (h/t Mirror):
“The goalkeeper game of musical chairs hasn’t started yet.
“It’s important for Simon to play somewhere, and our goal is still to make him leave.”
The agent added that Mignolet could still do a job, and it is up to Liverpool to do their bit too:
“He’s still got a lot to offer, and if we have an offer, we’re counting on Liverpool making an effort.”
Mignolet is an important part of the team
The Belgian might not start several games next season but he is still an important member of the side.
The goalkeeper is an ultimate professional behind the scenes and has always given it his all in training.
The 31-year-old was one of the best keepers in the Premier League when we signed him from Sunderland, but he can still do a good job in case Alisson misses out due to injury or suspension.

The Reds would need to dip into the market if they sell the Belgian as we cannot rely on youngsters to cover Alisson.
