Klopp is tranforming Liverpool into title contenders again.
Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne will be out of action for at least six months after suffering a cruciate ligament injury.
The English defender picked up the problem against Borussia Dortmund and has returned to the United Kingdom for treatment, according to Sky Sports.
Jurgen Klopp told the club’s website that the injury was straightforward and there should be no complications (h/t Sky Sports
):“Clearly an injury of this nature isn’t a happy moment for any player, but the silver lining for him is that, according to the medical guys, it’s a straightforward ACL injury.
“This means fixing it and coming back from it should follow a path that is free from pitfalls and complications.”
The Englishman was sent on loan to Bournemouth for the second half of the previous season after a lack of starts at Anfield.
Clyne would not have received a lot of playing time this season too, thanks to the form shown by Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The English defender also missed the entirety of a season due to a back injury and this problem will be a blow to his hopes of playing regular football.
Clyne would have provided some cover for Trent, however, his injury comes as a mighty blow to our plans.
The right-back is a sound defender and was an England international too, but his attacking abilities cannot be matched with those of Trent.
All we can do is wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully, the 28-year-old comes back to fitness soon.
