Latest Liverpool news: Klopp responds to Fernandes possibly joining Man United

The Liverpool Echo claims that the Reds have been linked with Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes in the summer.

The 24-year-old was one of Sporting’s best players last season and was great in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

Fernandes scored one goal and created another in the game, and the Liverpool Echo adds that the £60million-rated player could be on his way to Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp was asked about the Red Devils signing the Portuguese, and responded (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“If he will do that then we will face him.

“He’s obviously a really good player. They have already a few really good players, so that will probably make them stronger.

“It’s not nice, but it (United’s transfer business) is not our cup of tea, to be honest.”

Sporting head Marcel Kelzer also admitted that Fernandes could leave in the summer, but did not reveal which clubs have bid for the attacking midfielder (h/t Liverpool Echo).

Liverpool not making big moves

Fernandes would be a smart addition to the team but it seems like Liverpool are not going to make major moves in the window.

The Reds have made just one signing in the summer, while most of our rivals have strengthened their teams.

Adam Lallana

Liverpool do have the likes of Adam Lallana, Rhian Brewster and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back from long-term injuries.

Hopefully, the trio can stay fit for the majority of next season and push us to another level.
