Ryan Kent was one of our successful loan stars last season. The English winger joined Rangers and had a great season under former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
The 22-year-old has impressed in this pre-season for Liverpool and the Reds have no intention to send him out on a loan deal again (h/t Liverpool Echo
).Jurgen Klopp also provided an update on Kent and claimed that the English winger could leave but only on a permanent deal (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“But going back? (Only) If Rangers can buy him. The time is over giving him on loan.
“At a specific age, a player needs to find a place to settle and stuff like this. But we will see. A loan is not planned.”
The German claimed that moving to Ibrox helped Kent develop and it helped the 22-year-old to play in a competitive league.
The youngster is a decent option out wide but he is never going to replace Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane in our team.
The 22-year-old could provide cover to the pair but we have Harry Wilson back after a stellar campaign in the Championship with Derby County.
Liverpool also signed Harvey Elliott from Fulham on Sunday, and the youngster did well in his first outing against Napoli.
Sending Kent out on loan would give him more experience, but if Klopp has decided that the 22-year-old has no future at Liverpool, then we should sell him soon.
