The Daily Express (h/t Daily Star) claims that Liverpool are interested in Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
The Reds have made just two signings this summer, with both of them being teenagers. Sepp van den Berg has been sent to the U23s to continue his training while Harvey Elliott is still with the main squad.
The report claims that Jurgen Klopp admires Cakir and the German could move for the Turkish goalkeeper before the end of the transfer window.
Cakir should act as a good back-up for Alisson. Simon Mignolet has been an excellent member of the team but has seen limited playing time since the arrival of Alisson.
The report adds that a move for the 23-year-old Turkish keeper will allow Mignolet to leave the club in the summer.
Cakir could provide quality competition to Alisson, and the Turk is younger than both our senior keepers in the team.
However, it is to be seen if the Trabzonspor star is willing to sit on the bench for the majority of the campaign given that Alisson has been almost flawless since his move from Roma.
Mignolet only played two games for the Reds last season. Cakir is 23 and would want to develop more but he would not get consistent starts should he join us.
