Liverpool FC transfer news: Reds interested in Leverkusen’s Havertz

German outlet Sport1 (h/t Metro) claims that Liverpool are one of the several clubs to have registered a transfer interest in Kai Havertz.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is one of the best talents in the Bundesliga and is already a regular for the German national side.

The Bayer Leverkusen youngster scored 17 goals and provided three assists in the Bundesliga last season, and the report claims that Manchester City are battling the Reds for Havertz.

The other clubs interested in the 20-year-old are Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Barcelona and Real Madrid (h/t Metro).

The report adds that Bayern Munich are desperate to sign the attacker but Leverkusen want £91million for their star.

Joao Felix went for a huge sum in the summer, and Leverkusen are confident they can get a similar fee for their 20-year-old rising star (h/t Metro).

Havertz has a ton of potential and it will be interesting to see where the German ends up in the future. The 20-year-old hasn’t made a decision on his future yet, but the report claims that the German is ready to listen to suitors.

Liverpool have spent big on players under Jurgen Klopp and signing Havertz would be great for our future.

The German can play out wide and will only improve under a manager like Klopp. The Reds have several quality midfielders on their books, but none of them is as creative as Havertz.

Liverpool didn’t spend big this summer as we consolidated the current team but Havertz is a player we should try to land.
