Liverpool FC transfer news: Roma to make one final bid for Lovren
Serie A side AS Roma are not giving up on signing Dejan Lovren this summer.
The Daily Mail reports that the Italians were interested in the Croatian earlier in the summer, and Corriere Dello Sport (h/t Daily Mail) claims that they will return for the 30-year-old after seeing a bid rejected for Daniele Rugani.
The Reds haven’t made any big signings in the summer and the report adds that Liverpool want to keep hold of the experienced Croatian.
Liverpool need to have quality options on the bench should a centre-back pick up a problem, and we saw such problems arise last season.
The report claims that Roma’s sporting director Gianluca Petrachi will submit a “solid” offer for the 30-year-old.
Lovren hasn’t played for the Reds this season, with Joel Matip or Joe Gomez partnering Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the defence.
