Liverpool travel to MK Dons for their third round Carabao Cup fixture tonight.
The Reds are coming off a hard-fought 2-1 win over Chelsea at the weekend, and there should be several changes in our starting XI.
This is the perfect chance to hand some of our squad players a chance to impress while some youngsters could also feature at Stadium MK.
Sadio Mane will not take part in the clash after he picked up an injury against Chelsea.
The Senegal star had to be replaced in the second half and Liverpool’s assistant manager Pep Lijnders revealed when Mane would be back in action (h/t LiverpoolFC.com):
“Sadio has a knock, of course, but he looks good.
“With having today off and having treatment tomorrow, I think on Thursday he will be back in training again, so that looks all good.”
The schedule is extremely packed this month and we need all our players fit and available for selection.
The forward has been one of the bright spots in a great start to the Premier League campaign and hopefully, he is in the XI to face Sheffield United at the weekend.
The Reds have a tricky Champions League tie against Red Bull Salzburg in midweek, and we need to win it after our loss to Napoli.
Liverpool shouldn’t take the lower league side lightly tonigh, and it will be interesting to see how the team performs.
