Alisson claims he is close to returning to action for Liverpool
Liverpool haven’t missed Alisson much since the Brazilian got injured against Norwich.
The Reds won the opening game of the Premier League season and Adrian has done a great job in goal.
The Spaniard was excellent in the clashes against Napoli and Chelsea, and Alisson’s absence hasn’t led to any scrutiny regarding our goalkeeping position.
That has allowed Alisson to continue his rehab from a calf injury and the Brazilian claimed he is close to returning for the Premier League leaders (h/t LiverpoolFC.com):
“I’m on a good way, I think we are nearly there.
“I can go outside to the pitch to do some goalkeeper work and I feel very well. I feel confident and I think now it’s just about getting all my power, all my confidence to come back and do what I love to do.”
The keeper also highlighted how well his rehab has gone and that he couldn’t even walk properly a couple of weeks ago:
“It’s massive because if I look back, two weeks ago I couldn’t even walk properly. Now I’m running, jumping on my right leg that was injured so I’m really happy for that.”
The 26-year-old is one of the best in the world and helped us win the Champions League in his debut season.
Liverpool should allow Alisson time to return
The Reds should be in no rush when it comes to Alisson’s return. Adrian has improved with each game under his belt and looks good with his kicking and distribution too.
Alisson’s injury seemed to be serious as he has been out for over a month and hopefully, he comes back in great shape.
Liverpool have some big games in the coming weeks and Alisson’s return would be great for the side.
