Harvey Elliott shines for Liverpool in win over MK Dons
Jurgen Klopp mixed things up a lot with the Liverpool team to face MK Dons in the Carabao Cup.
This could have been a tricky fixture for the Reds, especially with Klopp starting several talented youngsters, but we came out 2-0 winners.
James Milner opened the scoring in the first half with a rasping drive, which the keeper fumbled into his own net.
The veteran started as our left-back and produced a delightful cross for Ki-Jana Hoever to head home our second.
Rhian Brewster, Curtis Jones, Caoimhin Kelleher and Harvey Elliott were some of the youngsters who were handed a start at Stadium MK.
The home side had a few chances to score but Liverpool dominated the game and were deserving winners.
Fans believe Elliott is destined for great things
Elliott became the youngest Liverpool player to start a senior game, and the English winger was possibly the most impressive on the pitch.
The 16-year-old had a couple of chances to score but ended up hitting the post on both occasions. Elliott also set up Milner with a cross early in the game, but the veteran just missed the goal with his header.
The former Fulham starlet looked extremely confident on the ball and he was tracking back to help out the defence too.
Elliott has the pace and skills to beat opponents easily, and it will be interesting to see how things go for him this season.
The Englishman only joined us this summer from the Cottagers, but many Liverpool fans were impressed with his outing.
