Liverpool target Ajax and Brazil attacker David Neres
Ajax sensation David Neres is a target for Liverpool, according to Calciomercato.
The 22-year-old was one of Ajax’s best players last season and helped them reach the Champions League semi-finals.
The attacker also played a crucial role in the Dutch giants winning the league and has started this season well.
Neres featured in the Copa America success during the summer and has recorded three goals and an assist for Ajax this season.
A quality addition to the team?
Neres is extremely versatile and can play on either wing, which would be great for Liverpool.
Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane all swap positions when playing up front, and Neres could fit into the scheme of things at Anfield.
The report does highlight the rumours of Salah leaving Anfield next season, and the interest in Neres is adding more fuel to the fire.
Irrespective of Salah’s future, the Brazilian would be a great addition to the team and isn’t even close to reaching his peak.
Jurgen Klopp has worked wonders with several talents at Anfield, and it will be interesting to see who our targets are in January and next summer. The Reds were quiet in the previous transfer window as they opted to sign a couple of young players and two experienced keepers.
