Naby Keita didn’t face Sheffield United as he worked on his fitness
Naby Keita did not feature in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Sheffield United as he stayed back to work on his fitness, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The Guinea midfielder put up a decent performance in the 2-0 win over MK Dons in midweek, however, Keita decided to stay at Melwood and work on his fitness.
The 23-year-old has had his injury concerns since joining from RB Leipzig and came into this season with a knock.
Keita was also forced to miss the Champions League win over Tottenham as he recovered from a knock, but we need him to remain fit for the rest of the campaign.
Liverpool need options for their midfield
The Reds had to work hard for the win at Bramall Lane with Georginio Wijnaldum getting the only goal.
Liverpool
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also back to full fitness, but the Englishman looks a little rusty at the moment.
Keita should be in the mix for more starts and it will be interesting to see our team for the midweek clash.
The Reds need to get their Champions League campaign going after a loss against Napoli.
