Thomas Muller won’t be allowed to leave Bayern Munich in January

Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller will not be allowed to leave the Bavarians in January, according to Sky Germany (h/t Sky Sports).

The 30-year-old is unhappy with the lack of playing time this season, and his agent will speak to the club regarding the situation (h/t Sky Sports).

Muller has made 10 appearances this season and scored one goal, with only five starts to his name.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was keen on landing Muller in 2017 (h/t Liverpool Echo), however, Bayern see him as an important member of the team.

The Bundesliga giants believe he can cover three positions in the team and are willing to offer him a new deal as his current contract ends in 2021 (h/t Sky Sports).

A decent addition in January

Muller would have been a great addition in the January window as he provides a lot of experience to the side.

The German has also won eight Bundesliga titles, and he would have provided cover for several positions at Anfield too.

However, it seems like he will remain at Bayern unless something changes in the coming weeks. Liverpool didn’t make any senior outfield signings in the summer, and it will be interesting to see if we strengthen in January.

The Reds are in a great position to win the Premier League but have 30 more games to go. Manchester City trail us by eight points and hopefully, we can maintain this gap until the end of the campaign.
