Why Liverpool won’t worry about Paul Pogba’s fitness ahead of clash at Old Trafford

Liverpool travel to Old Trafford in the biggest game of the round once the international break is done.

The Reds are perfect after eight games and hold an eight-point lead over Manchester City, the largest at this stage in Premier League history.

Liverpool aren’t playing at their best but they are getting the results. However, City look a little out of sorts at the back.

The Reds have already played some big teams and come out unscathed in the league, but a game against United isn’t always straightforward.

Passions run high and tackles fly in from all directions as England’s two biggest clubs face each other.

Normally, Liverpool would worry about the opposition stars and what impact they could have. Paul Pogba seems to have a cracked toe and is in a race to get fit for the clash (h/t Daily Mail).

The Frenchman is one of the most gifted players in the world and could be a match–winner on his day. However, the Reds won’t bother about Pogba’s availability as they chase their ninth Premier League win in a row.

United are struggling

Pogba could turn things around for United, but this isn’t a Red Devils side that should trouble the Reds at all.

United’s attack and midfield don’t seem to gel, and they have struggled all season. The 26-year-old Frenchman has a habit of doing well against rivals but his form has been down in the dumps too.

Pogba last played for them in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal, but Liverpool are miles ahead of United and shouldn’t be concerned about his participation.

United don’t seem to play any better with Pogba in the side, and the Frenchman could be found out if he isn’t 100% fit.

Liverpool have the swagger of a top team

Jurgen Klopp has worked miracles at Anfield, and the Reds should be considered as the favourites for their trip to Old Trafford.

Liverpool won’t have a particular game plan for one player and should try to nullify the entire Manchester United team.

Our attack is in great touch even though Mohamed Salah isn’t taking the chances presented to him. Our midfield has been excellent due to Fabinho’s presence, while the defence has done its bit too.

Adrian has been more than a capable replacement for Alisson, and we should come out with all three points next Sunday. There used to be a time when facing United at Old Trafford with their best player would be a dreaded fixture for us.

However, things have changed a lot under Jurgen Klopp. United can throw Pogba, David de Gea and any other star that they have, but Liverpool’s game plan will be enough to nullify any threat that the Red Devils possess.
