Borussia Dortmund offered Jurgen Klopp a return in 2018

Jurgen Klopp is possibly our greatest signing in the Premier League era, and we are back to our best.

The Reds are possibly one of the best in the world and won the Champions League last campaign.

Klopp has turned Liverpool’s fortunes around, and we are leading the Premier League by eight points after eight games.

The German was extremely successful with Borussia Dortmund too as he won two Bundesliga titles.

Klopp broke the stranglehold of Bayern Munich and took Dortmund to another level, and Hans-Joachim Watzke claimed he tried to re-sign the German in 2018.

Watzke, however, wrote in his book ‘REAL LOVE. A life with BVB’ that the Liverpool man was going to honour his contract (h/t Sky Sports

“I knew that Jurgen would [decline], that he will fulfil his contract in Liverpool.

“Jurgen has always fulfilled his contracts, but if you want to go new ways and we had to break new ground at BVB, then at least I had to ask Jurgen if he could possibly imagine that.

“I did not expect that at all, but I would not have forgiven myself for not asking him at that moment.”

Klopp ready to land the big one at Anfield?

Liverpool haven’t won the Premier League title and came close last season.

Klopp seems set to break that, and it will be interesting to see if we can stretch our lead over Manchester City after the international break.

It was extremely unlikely that he was going to leave the Reds after the great work done here. We lifted the Champions League title and seem set for more success under the German.
