Jurgen Klopp seconds Pep Guardiola and hits out at the scheduling in the Premier League

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp blasts the Premier League schedule-makers for putting his team in the early kick-off spot once again

Jurgen Klopp ridicules the Premier League schedule-makers for putting Liverpool in another 12:30 pm kick-off spot, echoing concerns from Pep Guardiola. Klopp has voiced his concern about the Premier League schedule for a long time and faced criticism for it before.

However, other managers are voicing similar concerns regularly now and many people are agreeing with the issue over scheduling. The Reds have attempted to take every competition seriously, giving respect to them irrespective of their reputation in football.

Playing in competitions seriously jeopardizes the team’s fitness level, exacerbating the situation. Football critics argue for overpayment of players, viewing the professional level as privileged. Nevertheless, asking players to perform at their topmost level with consistency without a sufficient recovery period is harmful and unrealistic.

Speaking to the reporters before the game against Tottenham Hotspur (h/t The Daily Briefing), Klopp berated the kick-off timing. He said:

“Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday 12.30 pm is a crime. I was expecting Amnesty International to be involved.”

In October, the Mirror reported that Liverpool played their 14th early kick-off against Manchester City since Jurgen Klopp took charge. Tottenham Hotspur played the second-highest early kick-off games with only six during that period in the Premier League.

The Reds have suffered a massive dip in form in the last month, facing dire consequences as a result. They experienced elimination from the FA Cup and the Europa League and dropped out of the Premier League title race.

Nevertheless, no one can argue against much evidence that the Premier League scheduling and officiating have worked against Liverpool. The Reds dropped numerous points due to poor officiating as teams like Arsenal reaped the rewards of such poor decisions. As Klopp

departs, many pundits and Liverpool fans expect him to speak up against these blatantly unprofessional problems.
