Barcelona eye Roberto Firmino as Luis Suarez’s replacement
Barcelona see Roberto Firmino as Luis Suarez’s possible replacement, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Calciomercato).
The Brazilian has been excellent under Jurgen Klopp and is the brain of our attack. The 28-year-old doesn’t score regularly but his movement and vision are important to our style.
The former Hoffenheim star has grown leaps and bounds under the German while Suarez has been an incredible buy for the Catalans.
The Uruguayan was one of the best when they signed him from Liverpool, and has won several titles with Barca too.
The report names several others as possible targets for Barcelona as Suarez turns 33 next year. Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Rashford are the others who have been linked (h/t Calciomercato).
No chance of letting Firmino leave
We shouldn’t think about selling the Brazilian due to his importance to the side.
The Reds are one of the best in the world and are set to win a lot of silverware. We won the Champions League last season and have started this domestic campaign very well.
The Brazilian would also know the story of his countryman at the Catalan club. Philippe Coutinho was signed from Liverpool and struggled to make an impact.
Coutinho is trying to rebuild his career after joining Bayern Munich on loan.

Firmino doesn’t need to leave Anfield and Barca’s transfers don’t always work out. We are in a great position on and off the pitch and are only growing stronger under Klopp.
