Marko Grujic believes he can play for Liverpool as Berlin loan continues
Marko Grujic was one of the most impressive midfielders in the Bundesliga last season. The Serbian put in some fantastic performances for Hertha Berlin but his campaign was blighted with minor niggles.
The 23-year-old has returned to the German capital for a second stint with Hertha, but still believes he can play for Liverpool.
Grujic has spent almost two-and-a-half seasons out on loan but his dream is still to play for the Reds (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“It’s not easy to become a part of the Liverpool squad, I can see myself in the red shirt but I have to become more experienced before I can wear it again.”
The Serbian also highlighted which aspects he needs to work on as he looks to break into Jurgen Klopp’s plans:
“I want to improve my physical performance and take my concentration to another level. I want to be ready for Liverpool so I will have a chance to get into the team.”
Grujic has to play regularly
The Serbian could be a great addition to the team next season but admitted he has to play regularly at Berlin.
The midfielder needs to remain fit for the majority of the season and he hasn’t done a bad job so far.
Grujic has featured eight times for Berlin this season and has two goals to his name already. The 23-year-old added that he works out in the gym on off days from training and isn’t interested in Berlin’s nightlife.
