Timo Werner isn’t leaving RB Leipzig after signing new deal

RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche has claimed that the club don’t want to lose German striker Timo Werner.

The 23-year-old signed a new four-year deal in the summer after a move to Bayern Munich collapsed (h/t Mirror).

Manchester United and Liverpool have been linked with Werner, and the German’s contract features a release clause of £27million (h/t Mirror).

Werner has nine goals and three assists from 10 Bundesliga games this season. The forward also has a couple of goals in the Champions League and the DFB Pokal too.

The 23-year-old bagged 16 goals and provided seven assists in the Bundesliga last time around.

Krosche was quoted by Bild and said that Leipzig don’t want to lose the striker (h/t Sky Sports):

“Timo just extended his contract with us recently, and we’re not thinking about letting him go at all.”

Liverpool’s attacking options

Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are the attackers in our first XI. Mane and Salah shared the Golden boot with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last season.

Salah also won the golden boot outright in his first season with the Reds. However, the Reds have some problems with the cover for the trio.

Xherdan Shaqiri has spent most of this season out injured while Rhian Brewster is still a little raw and hasn’t featured regularly for the senior team.

Divock Origi has been in decent form this season and scored a brace in the Carabao Cup win over Arsenal recently.
