Liverpool dealt Manchester United blow in Erling Haaland chase

Erling Haaland has been in brilliant form for RB Salzburg this season.

The 19-year-old striker has already scored 26 goals for the Austrians in all competitions this season.

Haaland has even scored in each Champions League game this season and has seven goals in the competition already.

The youngster’s form has attracted the attention of several top clubs, and Liverpool have been linked with the teen (h/t Mirror).

The Mirror adds that Manchester United are also interested in the 19-year-old, and the Red Devils seem to be in the lead.

Dagbladet (h/t Sky Sports) claims that our rivals are the favourites to land the forward.

Haaland was also managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde, and it will be interesting to see where the Norwegian can end up.

Liverpool have a great attacking unit

Our first-choice front three have done a great job over the past two years, and they have continued in the same vein of form this time too.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah were on target in the win over Manchester City while Roberto Firmino does a lot of the running and hard work.

Haaland could fit into our side but would possibly have to spend time on the bench too. The Reds have other attacking options too, but we could do with more competition for Salah and Mane.

Moving to United would be a bit of a risk given that they aren’t in great form. The Red Devils are outside the top four currently, and have struggled for consistency under Solskjaer.
