Genk midfielder Sander Berge has faced Liverpool twice in the Champions League this season.
The 21-year-old has been linked with the Reds in recent weeks and Jurgen Klopp was also seen speaking with him during our Champions League clash (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Berge was recently speaking to Norway’s TV2 and highlighted he wanted to play as often as he could at Anfield (h/t Liverpool Echo):
“Playing at Anfield is a dream for everyone in the world, and not least for Norwegians.
“Liverpool are the best team [at the moment] and have the most fans. So I could certainly like to play at Anfield as often as possible.”
The Norway international has featured in 20 games for Genk this season and has also scored once for the national team. The 21-year-old made a name for himself at Vaalerenga before joining Genk in the 2016-17 season.
The Reds already have several options in the midfield and it will be interesting to see if we move for any senior players next summer.
Liverpool didn’t make too many moves at the start of the season but a couple of our midfielders are ageing. James Milner and Adam Lallana are over 30 while Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson are 29.
Lallana has struggled with injuries in recent years and is a free agent at the end of the season.
Milner is a crucial part of the team, but the former Leeds United midfielder is also out of a contract in the summer.
