Klopp wants Lallana to extend his contract by a year to avoid losing him on a free, but it seems like the 31-year-old will be moving on at the end of the season. (h/t Daily Mail)
Lallana who joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2014, has made 170 appearances for the Reds scoring 22 goals. (h/t Whoscored)
Beset by injuries during his time at Anfield, Lallana was sidelined for the majority of the last two seasons, after being a mainstay in Klopp’s plans after he took over.
The midfielder had had a resurgent campaign this time around, impressing in the recent win against Wolverhampton Wanderers and also coming off the bench to score against Manchester United at Old Trafford to keep Liverpool’s unbeaten run going.
Lallana was the poster child of Klopp’s gegenpressing when he initially took over and if not for injuries would have played a much bigger role in Liverpool’s recent successes.
In spite of the signing of Takumi Minamino, Lallana is still likely to get playing time whenever fit and will be held in high regard at Anfield.
