Daniel Agger has called VAR a disaster amid Wolves controversy
Liverpool were the beneficiaries this week as two crucial calls made by VAR ensured the Reds ended their year with another victory.
Sadio Mane’s goal was disallowed only for VAR to permit it, whereas Pedro Neto thought he had equalized for Wolves only to see his goal chalked off for offside by the thinnest of margins.
With this being one of many such incidents over the season, the implementation of VAR has led to plenty of debates among pundits (h/t Liverpool Echo).
Former Liverpool star Daniel Agger has lent his voice to the conversation and has termed VAR to be a disaster.
Going on to say that he fortunate enough to play in a time before VAR, Agger has urged to just play the game and not get bogged down on technicalities.
Agger amusingly put up a picture of kicking former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie as he made his opinion known.

VAR is still a work in progress and we cannot say how it will be implemented in the coming seasons.
With Agger using the challenge against Van Persie to make his point, we can’t imagine him being much of a fan of VAR even if it was used liberally.
