League Two side Carlisle will not allow Liverpool target Jarrad Branthwaite to leave on the cheap.

The Reds are interested in the 17-year-old centre-back but Carlisle recently rejected a deal from Everton (h/t Daily Mail).

The Toffees submitted an offer of £500,000 plus add-ons for the defender, however, Carlisle want around £800,000 for their rising star, according to the report.

There are several clubs interested in Branthwaite with Everton contemplating whether to increase their offer or pull out of the deal (h/t Daily Mail).

Red Bull Leipzig are keen on the teenager while Chelsea, Watford, Leicester and Manchester City are interested in the left-sided defender (h/t Daily Mail).

Branthwaite has become a regular for the League Two side, and it could be interesting times for the teenager.

Liverpool’s defensive options

The Reds didn’t spend much at the start of the season but signed young defender Sepp van den Berg.

The Dutchman has looked a little out of place in his senior outings this season. However, Van den Berg is still young and needs time to hone his skills.

Liverpool also have another young defender who is touted for great things. Ki-Jana Hoever excelled in the recent U17 World Cup and can play as a centre-back or right-back.

Branthwaite has a bright future ahead but has to make the right decision on which club to join.
