Liverpool have not made a bid for Turkish goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir
The I (h/t Liverpool Echo) reports that Liverpool have not tabled a bid of £13m for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for Trabzonspor since his debut in 2018. He is one of the best young goalkeepers in Turkey and made his national team debut last season.
The player’s impressive performances have also helped Trabzonspor rise to third in the Turkish Super Lig this season.
Liverpool are well stocked in the goalkeeping position. Brazilian number one Alisson Becker is the undisputable starter while Adrian is more than an able backup.
Having signed on a free in the summer, the Spaniard has stepped up whenever required and looks to be an astute signing.
Andy Lonergan is likely to leave in the summer when his contract expires and Caoimhin Kelleher is rising up the ranks. Moreover, Loris Karius may return to the club at the end of the season if Besiktas aren’t able to stump up the £7.25 million required to sign him permanently.
Liverpool did face a goalkeeping crisis earlier in the season. Adrian stepped up admirably to help the club and is set to resume his position as a dependable backup to Alisson.
