The 33-year-old joined Liverpool last summer on a free transfer, replacing the outgoing Simon Mignolet who left the club to join Club Brugge.
Adrian has proven to be a capable deputy and has played with distinction every time he has been called upon. The injury suffered by Alisson Becker has presented the Spaniard with a number of first-team opportunities so far.
The goalkeeper has made 12 appearances for the Reds this season. He played a key role in Liverpool’s victory over Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup. Adrian saved the decisive penalty against Tammy Abraham to ensure Liverpool continued their tryst with international trophies.
According to the report, Adrian is seen as the ideal candidate to provide competition for former Everton keeper Juan Robles, who is first-choice at the club.
Betis already have Spanish Under-21 goalkeeper Dani Martin at the club. The youngster has failed to impress this season and Adrian would provide an experienced back-up for the team until Martin is ready.
The Liverpool keeper came up through the youth ranks at Real Betis. He made 32 appearances for the Spanish side before moving to West Ham United in 2013.
Better to stay put
It has been an incredible few months for the 33-year-old shot-stopper. From being released at West Ham to becoming a World Champion with Liverpool, his career seems to be on course for a fairytale ending.
Adrian has performed admirably when called upon and made arguably the save of the season in the match against Napoli.
