“The best thing they did”: Former Manchester City boss makes Liverpool admission

Sven-Goran Eriksson would rather watch Liverpool than Manchester City

Liverpool are currently 25 points clear of Manchester City following the victory at Carrow Road. Eriksson believes that the Reds have ‘everything’.

“This Liverpool have everything, and the best thing they did is buy [Virgil] van Dijk.

“You can attack with a lot of people because he will always sort out one against one at the back. If you have Van Dijk you can do whatever you want, he is out of this world.”

He indicated that Liverpool are a complete team while reserving special praise for Virgil van Dijk. Calling the Dutchman otherworldly, the Swede went on to say that it is his presence at the back that permits Liverpool to attack in numbers.

Eriksson went on to state that Liverpool has now taken Manchester City’s mantle of being the most watchable team. He also touched upon him being a Liverpool supporter while reminiscing his past visits to Anfield.

“Finally. After many years. I’ve always been a Liverpool fan.”

He also recounted the memory of former Liverpool manager Joe Fagan inviting him into the famed boot room for a drink. Fagan led Liverpool to the League, League Cup and European Cup in his two years at the helm from 1983-85.
