Jordan Henderson a major doubt for West Ham clash

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is a major doubt for the match against West Ham United at Anfield, according to the Standard. The 29-year-old came off with an injured hamstring in the 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid midweek. He is currently awaiting a scan for the aforementioned injury.

The report goes on to say that the player is yet to undergo a scan in order to ascertain the full extent of his injury. With Liverpool due to return to Premier League action against the Hammers on Monday, the game looks to have come too soon for the Liverpool captain.

Sadio Mane too returned recently after injuring his hamstring against Wolverhampton Wanderers in January. The Senegalese forward missed only two games as the winter break afforded him the time to return to full fitness.

Henderson will have no such luxury and risks missing the return leg against Atletico on March 11. Thankfully for Klopp, he has few other injury concerns to contend with should the 29-year-old be forced to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Xherdan Shaqiri and Nathaniel Clyne are also expected to miss the match on Monday.
