The competition originated in Cape Town and this would certainly be a great learning exposure for our young Reds. The report adds that about 2,000 grassroots footballers will feature in the tournament, including 130 teams and 45 clubs. Last year, it was attended by more than 20,000 spectators.

The report suggests that the Lucky Star Cup started the same year as the FIFA World Cup was held in South Africa. Hosted by FC Kapstadt, it aims to provide and increase opportunities for young footballing talents across the nation.
