Liverpool squad the most valuable in Europe according to study

According to research conducted by CIES Football Observatory, Sky Sports, European Champions Liverpool have the most valuable squad in Europe.

The Reds are valued at £1.28 billion in the transfer market. This puts the Premier League leaders on top of the list ahead of even domestic rivals Manchester City, whose expensively assembled squad is valued at £1.24 billion.

The valuation incredibly places Jurgen Klopp’s men above Spanish powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid, who are valued at £1.07 billion

and £1 billion respectively.
Liverpool are valued higher than Manchester City

The Reds haven’t spent big apart from the signings of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker and have instead looked for value in the transfer market. The rise in the valuation of the players is a testament to the coaching at the club that strives to make players better with each passing week.

Acumen in the transfer market coupled with excellent coaching has helped a number of players play above their expected threshold while elevating the better ones to world-class levels.

The rankings are based on the value of players and use a number of variables including age, performances, career progression and contract duration. Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur also make the top ten in the list.

Mohamed Salah is the highest valued Liverpool player

French sensation Kylian Mbappe is the most expensive player while Mohamed Salah comes in at third behind former Red Raheem Sterling. Sadio Mane is the other Liverpool player in the top ten, at fifth place.

The Merseysiders also have the most valued player in three different positions according to the latest player results. Alisson Becker in goal, Virgil van Dijk in central defence and Trent Alexander-Arnold at full-back.
