Raheem Sterling gives cryptic answer on Anfield return
Manchester City star Raheem Sterling made his breakthrough at Liverpool before going on to evolve under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
According to the Daily Mail, the 26-year-old refused to give a definitive answer when asked if he will return to Liverpool in the future. The English superstar was taking part in a candid Q&A session.
The flying winger took control of the Instagram account of Colossal Sports Management, the agency that looks after his affairs, on Monday night. He refused to give a clear answer when asked if he will consider a return, instead, he went on to profess his love for the Merseyside club.
“Would I ever go back to Liverpool? To be honest with you I love Liverpool.”

Sterling accepted that he is grateful for the club’s role in making him who he is today. He commented about the role Liverpool played as he was growing up.
The makings of a star
The City star left Liverpool in 2015 in a deal worth £49million. The player and his agent’s antics did not go down well with the Reds faithful. They saw the player’s actions as a sign of him jumping ship.
Signed in 2010 from Queens Park Rangers, Sterling would make his debut for the first-team in 2012. He would go on to play a key role in Liverpool’s unlikely title charge in 2013-14.
He was called upon to play a prominent role the next season following Luis Suarez’s sale and Daniel Sturridge’s injury problems. It turned out to be his last at Anfield as he moved to City the next summer in acrimonious circumstances.
Sterling made 129 appearances for Liverpool and scored 23 goals and 25 assists for the club. Interestingly, the player’s agent had mentioned that Jurgen Klopp would be a good fit for Sterling.
