Mo Salah could miss 4 months of club football next season

As reported by the Daily Star, Liverpool are facing the prospect of being without star forward Mohamed Salah for four months next season.

Salah has been an integral member of the team since arriving from AS Roma in 2017. The Egyptian has been one of our top performers so far in the 2019/20 season, leading the charge for our first-ever Premier League title.

However, as per the report, Liverpool could be in for a big blow next season, with Salah likely to miss as many as four months of action due to international commitments.

The Africa Cup of Nations has been moved to the winter schedule, after taking place in the summer last time out in 2019. The tournament will be held between January 9 to February 6 next year and Salah is certain to be involved with the Egyptian national team for the competition. (h/t Daily Star)

The Olympics was scheduled to take place this summer, between July 24 and August 9. But it has now been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The report states that plans are underway to move the Olympic games to the spring next year, with the Egyptian national team keen on having Salah as one of the players over 23 in the squad.

And should Salah participate in both the tournaments, Liverpool are likely to be without their star man for an elongated period in the 2020/21 season. (h/t Daily Star)
