Jurgen Klopp has revealed he broke into tears after watching a video of NHS staff singing YNWA
In an interview with Liverpool’s official website, manager Jurgen Klopp has claimed that he was moved to tears by watching a video of NHS staff singing the club’s anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone.
The world has been hit by the deadly coronavirus pandemic and the NHS staff have been placed under immense pressure in the UK as the situation worsens with each passing day. And the healthcare professionals are doing their best to keep spirits up during this time of crisis.
One such instance saw health workers perform a rendition of Liverpool’s anthem at work while treating the patients. And when Klopp happened to see that video, our manager broke into tears. Speaking to the club’s official site, Klopp said:
“It’s extraordinary. I think yesterday I was sent a video of people in the hospital just outside the intensive care area and when they started singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ I started crying immediately.”
Klopp then went on to pay tribute to the efforts of everyone who was on the frontline in the battle against the pandemic. The German also shed light on the atmosphere within his squad, insisting that spirits remain high among his players and squad.
Emotional watching this. So much respect for NHS staff at the best of times, but at the moment, putting their lives on the line to protect us from this virus, wow! Total heroes. #YNWA #NHSHeroes pic.twitter.com/VJlA4WrsXO
