Transfer news: Liverpool have no plans to let world-class duo leave Anfield

Liverpool have no intention to sell Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah

Liverpool have no intention to sell either Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah to Real Madrid. According to The Athletic (h/t Mirror), the Reds board has been left bemused by news linking the duo away. They firmly believe that the duo’s future lies at Anfield.

The more persistent of the rumours have been attributed to Mane. The reigning African Player of the Year has turned into one of the world’s most fearsome attackers under the guidance of Klopp.

He finished fifth in the Balon D’or last season and played a crucial part in Liverpool’s run to successive Champions League finals. The Reds lost to Real Madrid in the first of those two finals.

Although remembered for Salah’s injury, Mane took center stage as he led the Reds fightback that night. He briefly brought Liverpool level and his performance will not have been lost on Zinedine Zidane.

Underachievers no more!

The Reds have won a trio of international trophies under Klopp in the past 12 months. The Liverpool board is confident that the Senegalese star is keen to stay and build on that success.

That belief is also shared by former Real and Liverpool star Steve Mcmanaman. The former star believes that the best teams are currently in England

. Making the move to Barcelona or Real Madrid will not be a step up at this moment in time. In spite of putting up impressive numbers, Salah does come in for more ridicule, unfairly so.

His importance to the team will not be lost on those in charge, with the Egyptian superstar also set to stay. Salah’s first spell in England at Chelsea is a far cry from the dominance he has showcased at Anfield.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have scored bucketloads for Liverpool

Mane and Salah form the main goalscoring threat from Liverpool’s vaunted front three. The duo has scored a combined 168 goals and 71 assists since making the move to Anfield. To put that into perspective, it is eight more than what Everton have scored in the Premier League in the last three seasons combined.

Liverpool have grown leaps and bounds under the leadership of Jurgen Klopp. The Reds are not a stepping stone anymore, but rather a destination. The club’s ability to keep hold of our stars certainly backs up that fact.
