According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been forced to pay for his defeat to Jamie Carragher in a quiz on Sky Sports.
The wager was proposed by Carragher, who said that the loser has to shave off their beard. With the stakes raised, the duo went neck to neck, with the former centre-back prevailing 12-11.
Carragher is used to digging deep during his time as a Liverpool player. He doesn’t look to have lost his touch as he kept his cool to see himself through.
In the end, Carragher took the bragging rights after being asked, “who were the first team to beat Liverpool after you retired?”
We really feel it is something Oxlade-Chamberlain should know but considering the result, it looks like Dejan Lovren doesn’t speak much about it in the Liverpool dressing room.
With his loss confirmed, Oxlade-Chamberlain had no option but to shave off his beard. True to his word, he showcased his new look to fans yesterday.
The midfielder then sent a message to Carragher to prove he has fulfilled his end of the bargain.
“Carra. The deed is done. Sideburns are looking shockingly bad. Didn’t want to go anywhere near them, was very scared.”
The midfielder also revealed that he looks like his father from the 80s. Fair play to Oxlade-Chamberlain for keeping his end of the bargain and being a sporting loser.
The midfielder had earlier posted a video showing him grooving alongside girlfriend Perrie Edwards in a choreographed dance routine. (h/t Daily Mail)
It was clear to see where he got his deft footwork from.
