Liverpool given hope in the pursuit to sign Adama Traore
According to the Spanish publication EFE (h/t Metro), the agent of Adama Traore, Rodri Baster has admitted that the coronavirus outbreak will not impact his client’s chances of a move to a bigger club.
This will come as music to the ears of Liverpool, who are keen on bringing in the powerhouse winger to Anfield (h/t Metro).
Baster has termed Traore an appealing player while confirming that there is interest abound in his client. Premier League side Arsenal are monitoring the situation while the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona are also in the fray. (h/t Metro)
Primarily a right-winger, Traore can also play on the other wing. He has scored 7 goals and 13 assists in 79 games since joining Wolves.
A player possessing both pace and power, the Spaniard is a real handful. He has put in a number of memorable performances this season where he has outfought and outmuscled the opposition.
Traore’s performances have drawn much attention with even Jurgen Klopp going on to praise the player as ‘unplayable’. His effectiveness can be exemplified by his performances against defending champions Manchester City.
Wolves completed a double over the Citizens with Traore central to both victories. He scored both goals in the fixture at the Etihad before leading the Wolves back from two goals down to earn a famous 3-2 victory.
A battering ram to throw on
Ideally, Liverpool could do with such a powerhouse of a player in attack. The gulf between Liverpool’s first-choice front three and the backups is considerable, affecting our chances of rotating players without losing the edge.
Divock Origi has failed to replicate last season’s heroics while Xherdan Sjhaqiri has failed to stay fit. On the other hand, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been excellent. However, his best performances have come in the middle of the park rather than out wide.
On paper, Traore looks to be a perfect addition to come off the bench to make a difference for us.
