Philippe Coutinho was denied return to Anfield over phone
According to Sport (h/t Daily Star), Liverpool informed former star Philippe Coutinho that they had no intention on bringing him back to Anfield.
This comes just two years after the 27-year old made the move to Nou Camp. The high-profile transfer has not worked out and both Coutinho and Barcelona are keen to end the nightmare.
Liverpool was among the Premier League clubs who were offered the Brazilian. The Reds, however, have no intention of bringing the player back (h/t Daily Star).
Chelsea also have been offered the chance to sign the player, a move that has the blessing of Brazilian legend Rivaldo (h/t Daily Star).
The Brazilian got his much-anticipated move to the Nou Camp in 2018. It has been more miss than a hit with him having scored 21 goals and 11 assists in 76 appearances.
The Catalans were so frustrated by the player that they sent him away on loan to Bayern Munich. In spite of having put up a decent show, the German giants have no intention of making the deal permanent (h/t Daily Star).
Out with the old, in with the new
The sale of Coutinho has worked out extremely well for our team. Not only has the money been wisely reinvested, but Jurgen Klopp also tweaked his system to ensure the team coped well without the talismanic Brazilian.
Coutinho is notably a talented player. He carried us on his shoulders at times pulling one out of the hat when least expected. The truth is that we have since moved on and don’t need the Brazilian as we once did.
