Liverpool have no interest in signing Talles Magno

According to a report from the Echo, Premier League champions Liverpool have absolutely no interest in signing Brazilian teenage sensation Talles Magno.

The 18-year-old is heralded as one of the brightest young prospects in Brazil. A product of the Vasco da Gama youth academy, he made his first-team debut in June last year. Till date, he has featured 17 times for the club, scoring two goals and creating one more.

Magno also impressed for the Brazil U17 national side, having scored three goals in six matches, two of which came in the U17 FIFA World Cup.

Reports in Brazil (h/t AS English) claimed that Liverpool were closing in on the signing of the versatile forward, who can play anywhere across the frontline. The Reds were, reportedly, set to beat the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan among others to Magno’s signing.

However, as per the latest update from Echo, there is little truth to these reports.

While he may be held in the highest regard in his homeland, the difficulty for him to obtain a work permit in England at the moment is being cited as the reason behind Liverpool’s disinterest in him. (h/t Liverpool Echo)

Not long ago, we faced similar issues after signing another highly-rated Brazilian Allan Rodrigues de Souza.

Having signed for Liverpool in 2015, the midfielder spent time on loan in Finland, Belgium, Germany and Cyprus, before returning to Brazil for a temporary stint with Fluminense. He joined Atletico Mineiro on a permanent deal this past January.

A new forward would be a handy addition this summer for the club. However, it doesn’t seem like we will be signing Magno this time out.
