No joy for Liverpool fans or players after revised Premier League schedule for December is announced

According to a report by Liverpool Echo, the Premier League announced the revised fixture schedule for December which will see Liverpool matches being shown across three different broadcasters.

Earlier this week, the Merseyside area was put in a Tier-2 lockdown imposed by the government due to the coronavirus pandemic, which will allow Anfield to house up to 2,000 spectators each game.

The fixture list continues to be amended due to television purposes. Liverpool start their December with a Champions League group stage clash against Ajax

at Anfield on the night of December 1st.

Liverpool’s first Premier League game of the month, the home clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers, has been moved to Sunday, December 6th, kicking off at 6:15 PM GMT. The match will be one of the three Liverpool matches in December to be broadcasted on Amazon. (h/t Liverpool Echo)

This means Liverpool will have reduced time to prepare for their final UEFA Champions League group match against FC Midtjylland in Dortmund on Wednesday, December 9th, which starts at 5:55 PM GMT.

Liverpool’s trip to Fulham is now scheduled to be played on Sunday, December 13th, and will kick-off at 4:30 PM GMT. The match will be broadcasted on Sky Sports.

Liverpool’s 8:00 PM GMT clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on 16th December remains untouched and will be broadcasted on Amazon.

The long trip to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League has been rescheduled to be played at 12:30 PM GMT on 19th December, and will be broadcasted on BT Sport.

Liverpool’s clash against West Brom being preponed to 27th December will give them a little more time to prepare for the game against Newcastle United on the 30th. (GETTY Images)

The Reds will finally be afforded a 7-day break and will appreciate the Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion being preponed to be played on 27th December at 8:00 PM GMT. It will be shown live on Sky Sports.

Jurgen Klopp’s men end their December away at Newcastle United on the 30th of December in an 8:00 PM GMT kick-off, which will be the third Liverpool game to be broadcasted on Amazon Prime Video in December.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been vocally critical of BT Sport and their alteration of the Premier League schedule. The German manager went on a lengthy rant, criticizing the broadcasters’ lack of concern regarding the safety of the players.
