Liverpool transfer target Florian Neuhaus denies Bayern Munich agreement
Speaking to TZ (h/t Daily Star), Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder and Liverpool transfer target Florian Neuhaus has quashed the speculations that he has an agreement to sign for Bayern Munich in 2022.
Neuhaus has been on the radars of Liverpool for quite some time now with the club looking for reinforcements in midfield to replace the exit-bound Georginio Wijnaldum. However, reports earlier this week claimed that the Reds had been dealt a blow in their pursuit of the 24-year-old German international, as he had agreed to move to reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022.
Neuhaus, though, has quickly acted to dash those rumours, insisting that he has no agreement in place to move to the record German champions next year. (h/t Daily Star)
“I read that my move to FC Bayern in 2022 was already a done deal. I can clearly deny that here and now. I haven’t signed a contract anywhere except with Borussia Mönchengladbach. I feel very much at home there at the moment.”
This development should come as a boost for Liverpool and their hopes of signing Neuhaus. The 24-year-old has steadily grown into one of the best central midfielders on show in the Bundesliga over the past couple of seasons.
Having now established a foothold in the German national team as well, Neuhaus could be set for a key role in the upcoming Euros, with the midfielder scoring in the 1-1 draw against Denmark in the warm-up friendly on Wednesday night.

Neuhaus enjoyed a fine 2020/21 season with Borussia Monchengladbach, finishing with an impressive tally of eight goals and eight assists each from 45 games in all competitions. (h/t Transfermarkt)
With Wijnaldum’s contract expiring and the likes of Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain failing to meet expectations, a move for the 24-year-old would certainly make a lot of sense for Jurgen Klopp & co.
