Transfer News: Liverpool could use Marko Grujic in Fabio Vieira swap deal
According to Correio da Manha cited by This is Anfield (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool could use Marko Grujic as a makeweight in a deal for FC Porto midfielder, Fabio Vieira.
The Serbian midfielder spent this past season out on loan at the Portuguese side. They want to make the move permanent but the £15mi asking price for Grujic could turn Porto away from the deal.
And the report mentions that the Reds could offer Grujic, now 25, in exchange for Fabio Vieira. It does not state if the deal could be a direct swap deal or if either side would pay a fee on top of that.
It remains to be seen what transpires and if the two midfielders switch places in the summer or not. But Fabio Vieira is one youngster that Liverpool should try to sign considering his age and rapid rise to Porto’s first team.
Marco Porto
The 21-year-old made 19 Liga NOS and 6 Champions League appearances this season, which included a start against Manchester City in Europe. As reported by the Daily Star and covered by TheKopTimes, he has a reported release clause of £30m.
Liverpool should make replacing Georginio Wijnaldum a priority in the summer transfer window. The Dutchman has joined Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent.
And in the Dutchman, the Reds have lost a dependable man in the middle of the park. With injuries and a packed schedule denting Liverpool’s trophy hopes, Jurgen Klopp would want to avoid a repeat of that scenario.

This is probably why Liverpool are after a number of midfielders. Apart from Vieira, the report mentions that Youri Tielemans and Florian Neuhaus are two other names Liverpool have eyed recently.
