Transfer News: Liverpool to prioritize three contract renewals before new signings
According to transfer news from Express, Liverpool will first look to renew the contracts of three players before going after any new signings. The Reds want to tie down Virgil van Dijk, Alisson and Fabinho to new deals before looking to sign Yves Bissouma and Florian Neuhaus.
Liverpool are looking to fill the void left by Gini Wijnaldum. For that, they have kept Yves Bissouma of Brighton and Florian Neuhaus of Borussia Monchengladbach as options.
Liverpool may have already completed one deal in bringing Ibrahima Konate but they will put a pause on any more signings. First, they will renew the deals of some of their top players. One of the first names they will hand a deal to is Virgil van Dijk. The Dutch defender hasn’t played since his ACL injury against Everton last October.
Next up is Alisson, who endeared himself further to the club with that goal of his. As always, he has been a reliable presence in goal. Lastly, there is Fabinho, who had to play most of the season in defence. He was one of the reasons why Liverpool held together during that crisis.
