Transfer News: Liverpool handed boost in Domenico Berardi chase

According to transfer news from Daily Star, Liverpool have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Domenico Berardi. Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali claimed that he is not sure of the winger staying put at the club.

While Berardi was a household name in the Serie A, his talent shone through at the Euros and he is the name on everyone’s lips. The 26-year-old starred for the Azzurri in their group stages as they won all three games.

Berardi is a product of the Sassuolo youth academy and has spent his entire professional career in Italy. The Italian winger had also made a big impression at Sassuolo this season with 17 goals and 8 assists in all competitions.

Hence, it was no surprise to see that winger get linked with a move to Liverpool. Now, their hopes have been boosted by the Sassuolo CEO’s comments.

“I cannot promise that Berardi will stay. It is not a question of money.”

While he can be a sturdy replacement for either of Liverpool’s wingers in the long term, his immediate importance cannot be undermined either. The Reds need quality attackers to compete for starts. They already have Diogo Jota but Berardi can offer another great option to Jurgen Klopp especially when Sadio Mane and Salah leave for AFCON at the start of 2022.
