Transfer News: Fulham preparing bid for Liverpool ace Harry Wilson
According to a report by Goal (h/t Daily Star), Fulham are preparing a bid for Liverpool and Wales winger, Harry Wilson, for a permanent transfer in the summer.
The Reds value the Welshman at £15m, a figure which the Cottagers are prepared to meet. Wilson has failed to establish himself as a regular at Liverpool.
He came through the youth ranks at the Merseyside club but has been loaned out five different times since 2015. Crewe Alexandra, Hull City, Derby Country, AFC Bournemouth, and Cardiff City are all teams where he has joined on a temporary basis.
But it seems that the Reds want to offload him permanently this summer. The 24-year-old was at Cardiff last season and has plenty of experience in England’s second division, which has seen him score 29 times and assist 19 goals in 90 appearances.
Wilson off to London?
Fulham, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, could use a young, dynamic winger like him in their bid to secure instant promotion. With them looking to meet Liverpool’s valuation, this move seems like a win-win for all parties.
It was always going to be hard for Wilson to compete with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane for starts. The Reds duo are in the peak years of their career, and with Wilson already 24 years old, a decision had to be made.
If he does leave Anfield, any potential income could then go towards signing a player- that is, if the Reds decide to bring in anyone else after already securing Ibrahima Konate’s signature.
